Yesterday there were four reasons to celebrate in Neu-Ulm: The foundation stone was laid for Das grüne Haus® am Ring with its four buildings that fit in very well with the surroundings of Glacis Park.
Last year, the site of the former bowling center was cleared of its contaminated sites by demolishing the old buildings and excavating the building pit. The inner-city area, which had previously been fallow, is thus being revitalized for the coming mixed use. At the same time, Uni Apart is making half of the site available again to nature as a green area.
Together with Alexander Orthmann, managing partner (Uni Apart Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH), Katrin Albsteiger (Mayor of Neu-Ulm),
the architect and design author Hans-Georg Ziegler (ZG Architekten GmbH) with representatives of the general contractor (W. Markgraf GmbH & Co KG) as well as other project participants were able to lay the foundation stone for Das grüne Haus® am Ring in the currently possible ceremonial setting in glorious weather.
In her speech, Mayor Katrin Albsteiger emphasized the urban development significance of the project as the gateway to the city center of Neu-Ulm. Above this, she praised the successful cooperation with the company Uni Apart as well as the construction progress already achieved. "I look forward to being able to help inaugurate this groundbreaking project as early as the end of next year and wish all those involved a successful outcome to the construction activities," said Mayor Katrin Albsteiger.
Uni Apart is developing a mixed-use project with 257 student and 20 business apartments, 34 apartments, four commercial units and a two-storey underground car park on the former site of the bowling center at the gateway to Neu-Ulm.
Uni Apart places particular emphasis on the co-living concept. Through the clever interplay of spaces and rooms, Das grüne Haus® am Ring invites people to meet and thus strengthens the residents' sense of community. So that people don't just live next door to each other, but live together. In short: so that neighbors can become friends more easily.
To this end, Uni Apart is developing an app as a platform to promote the exchange of residents and the use of the premium community spaces.
All those involved agree on the scope of the sustainable project The Green House® on the Ring, which Uni Apart would like to develop further as a brand in future projects.
